Mindful Meanderings

The Grace That Calls Us Inward

Beloved Souls,

In the gentle flow of our daily lives, there exists a profound grace that calls us inward. It whispers to our hearts, inviting us to turn our gaze away from the distractions of the world and to connect with the essence of our true selves. This is the call of the witness within—a sacred aspect of our being that yearns to be experienced.

As we deepen in our practice, we cultivate a longing for the witness. This craving is not merely for observation, but for a deep, experiential understanding of our inner landscape. In this pursuit, we seek silence, not just as an absence of sound, but as a transformative presence that nurtures our spirit and allows us to reconnect with our authenticity.

In moments of stillness, we discover the comfort that silence offers. It cradles our fears, quiets our restless minds, and unearths the wisdom hidden beneath layers of noise. There, in the serene embrace of silence, we can truly witness our thoughts, emotions, and experiences. We come to understand that the witness is our refuge—a source of clarity and peace in a tumultuous world.

As we respond to this grace that calls us inward, let us remain open to the beauty of the experience. Embrace the longing for the witness, and allow the silence to guide you home. In this sacred journey, we find connection, awareness, and the ultimate comfort that resides within us all.

Be Mindful at Work

Staying present in daily life is essential for fostering inner peace and connecting with your true self. Here are some practical tips:

  1. Mindful Breathing: Take a few moments throughout the day to focus on your breath. Inhale deeply and exhale slowly. This simple practice anchors you to the present.
  2. Engage Your Senses: Notice the sights, sounds, and smells around you. Whether you’re eating, walking, or working, fully engage with your environment to bring awareness to the moment.
  3. Limit Multitasking: Focus on one task at a time. Whether it’s reading an email or having a conversation, giving your full attention enhances your experience.
  4. Set Reminders: Use reminders or alarms to pause during your day. When the alarm goes off, check in with yourself and take a moment to breathe and be present.
  5. Practice Gratitude: Regularly acknowledge what you’re grateful for. This shift in focus can help ground you in the present moment and cultivate a positive mindset.
  6. Meditate Regularly: Incorporate meditation into your daily routine. Even a few minutes can help develop your ability to stay present.
  7. Let Go of Distractions: Reduce your exposure to distractions like social media or constant information. Create space for stillness and contemplation.
  8. Embrace a Daily Ritual: Establish a simple ritual that fosters mindfulness, like morning tea or evening reflection, to anchor you in the present each day.

Remember, staying present is a practice that develops over time. Be gentle with yourself as you cultivate this habit. Each moment is an opportunity to connect with the now.

Tiny Tiny Steps

Well, I’m writing IN a book. I am using a Monk Manual to start my long, long, long intended journaling practice. I love the process and I love the results. The process involves Prioritization, Action, and Reflection. It is a combination short and long term planner, priority practice, spiritual journal. The results have been immediate, progressive and across almost all life domains. I have only just begun a couple of months ago so I feel like the sky is the limit. Let’s broaden and build!

I’m writing a book!

The other day I decided I was going to write a book. I know the process and the journey will light the way. I will document the process here.

The realization came to me organically a few days ago. Everything is a combination of all that I’ve learned in the sequences that I’ve learned them, that’s brought me to this place right now. I know that I have something to share that may help point the way for the reader to serve.

This project has great potential. The book can grow a community. There can be workshops, a workbook, journal, podcasts, and lectures. This project engages many of my strengths: Strategy, Learner, Acheiver, Maximizer, and Positivity.

The first step was the topic which had to be the integration of my passions: mindfulness, leadership, and coaching. The next step was the structure so that the sections could have a cohesive structure and upward momentum. The upward spiral.

The Journey Begins

Thanks for joining me!  Today is my birthday!  It seems like a great day to birth a passion project.  This site will be all things mindful, all things leadership, and all things coaching.  Three of the many things I am passionate about and find infinitely fulfilling.  I hope that this will be more than a personal blog (though it will be).  My intention is that it will be an expression of myself (and my Self) and inspire a community of mindful leaders and coaches.
